Convening

The technical community and the policy community rarely share a room. Convening is the part of the institute's work that puts them in one.

No convening has been scheduled or held.

This calendar is keyed to the forms the institute convenes in. Every date is blank because nothing has been convened yet — and a closed-door session, by its nature, would not appear here even once one had.

The forms convening takes

F-01Track-two dialogue

Unofficial conversation between parties who cannot yet meet officially. Held under conditions that let participants speak without committing their governments.

F-02Closed-door briefing

Small, unattributed sessions for officials who need to ask the question they cannot ask on the record.

F-03Workshop

Working sessions where technical specialists and policy staff build a shared account of a problem instead of trading position papers.

F-04Conference

Open convening where the institute's analysis meets public scrutiny.
